Sir,

It doesn’t trouble me you didn’t cover the Sons Of Confederate Veterans Rally.  As you say, it’s your paper.  I do find it rather peculiar you devoted so much space justifying your choice.  I believe if you did the same with every piece of news you didn’t print your paper would be filled only with excuses.  To quote Shakespeare you “protest too much, methinks”

What does alarm me is your unjust and unprincipled argument for not covering it.  You claim your decision was “based on my belief the Confederate Battle Flag is a symbol of racially based hate” and your “core beliefs” therefore prevented you from covering the rally.  If you are as principled as you profess then your “core beliefs” must surely dictate that you not cover stories involving the US Flag and Christian Cross as both have much longer and bloodier histories with any offense you dare level at the Confederate Battle Flag.

Speaking of your black child you claim you are “not willing to further normalize any banner that people would deem him inferior.”  How then do you reconcile your “core belief” with the fact it was the US flag, not the Confederate Battle Flag, which presided over the Supreme Court in 1857 that ruled blacks were not citizens and had no rights.  It was the US Flag which presided over the Supreme Court in 1896 that ruled segregation was constitutional.  It was the US Flag that presided over the infamous Tuskegee syphilis experiments. It was the US Flag that flew over a segregated US military until 1947 and a segregated US public schools system until 1954.  And last year when Hilary Clinton denounced what she called the “systemic racism in our criminal justice system” she was not talking about the Confederate criminal justice system.   But you teach your child it is the Confederate Battle Flag that is the symbol of racial hatred!

You call the Confederate Battle Flag a “symbol of racially based hate” but the KKK didn’t hijack the Confederate Battle Flag until about 1950.  According to the Tuskegee Institute, there have been 4,742 lynchings in the US.  According to that same source, 99.8% of those lynching, in other words all but 13, occurred before 1950.  Prior to that, the KKK swore their one and only flag was the US flag, a fact incontestably verified by the presence of only the US Flag in their membership manuals, literature and events photos.  Go find every photo and video of KKK events you can and compare the number of US and Confederate Battle Flags.  Start with the KKK rallies in Kokomo IN (that’s right Indiana not Mississippi) in1923 attended by 200,000 Klansmen and in Washington DC in 1925.  You won’t find a single Confederate Battle Flag at either.  What you will find is more US flags at just these two rallies than Confederate Battle Flags at all other Klan rallies combined!  But you teach your child it is the Confederate Battle Flag that is the symbol of racial hatred!

And let’s not forget, the Confederate Battle Flag is a military flag and therefore apolitical.  It enslaved no one.  The US Flag, on the other hand, is the symbol of the US government which legalized and protected 136 million man-years of slavery over a period of 75 years.  Likewise, it was the US Flag, not Confederate Battle Flag that presided over Native American policy, like the Indian Removal Act (1830), which decimated Native populations by as much as 90%.  But you teach your child it is the Confederate Battle Flag that is the symbol of racial hatred.

In a similar manner, it can be demonstrated the sins of the Confederate Battle Flag pale in comparison to those perpetrated under the Christian Cross.  The exact number of victims from 700 years of Christian Crusades, Inquisitions and witch hunts is known only to God, but on 20 August 1191, Christian Crusaders killed some 5,000 men, women and children; more than all the lynchings in the entire history of the US.  Also, the Christian Cross is the most dominate and continuously used symbol of the KKK.  They’ve always asserted their “core belief” is Christian.  Look at their robes, past and present, almost all are adorned with a Cross.  And let’s not forget those burning Crosses.  How many beatings and lynchings have they illuminated?  But you teach your child it is the Confederate Battle Flag that is the symbol of racial hatred!

Perhaps it is best you did not cover the rally.  There was hatred and bigotry there.   It was brought there by protestors so blinded and enslaved by political correctness they can’t see the facts.  Adopting the tactics of the KKK, some hid their faces under masks while others stooped to derogatory names and malicious insults clearly intended to injure.  On the other side were the Confederate Battle Flag supporters, gathered peacefully and respectfully to honor the noblest of human qualities, devotion duty, courage, sacrifice and love of family.  It might be difficult to reconcile to your readers that reality with your “core beliefs.”  It would be even more difficult to explain to ones child that the former group was good and represented fairness and the latter group was bad and represented hate.  Yes, I can see why you didn’t put yourself in that position.

It is only a hopelessly arbitrary and hypocritical sense of justice that can condemn the Confederate Battle Flag when other cherished symbols are guilty of far more numerous and egregious misdeeds.  Obviously, it is not out of any “core beliefs” the Confederate Battle Flag is hated and censored but a choice and a very malignant and prejudicial one at that.  Anyone who claims there is some benign principle in the inquisition against the Confederate Battle Flag…well, the emperor has no clothes.   Even worse, those that so cravenly surrender the Confederate Battle Flag to hate groups give aid and comfort to very forces of hate they claim to oppose.  If you truly wish to further neutralize and consign to obscurity the forces of hate, do not empower them this way!  I say join us in repudiating and denying the use of this powerful symbol for any wicked purpose just as we do with the US Flag and Christian Cross.

Comey to Congress: Russians DID NOT Give Podesta’s Emails to WikiLeaks

Via Billy

FBI Director James Comey testified in front of Congress on Monday. While the mainstream media (MSM) focused on his statements indicating that the FBI is investigating possible Russian interference in the 2016 US election, the highlight of Comey’s testimony was ignored.

Comey mentioned that the FBI is investigating the leaks of secret information to the press and he told the House Intelligence Committee the investigation is still underway and he would be unable to discuss matters linked to the investigation.

However, the most important piece of information that Comey disclosed to Congress was that the Russians did not provide WikiLeaks HIllary’s campaign manager John Podesta’s emails.

Rush Limbaugh pointed this out yesterday –
Comey said something interesting today that nobody’s picked up on yet because they’re so distracted by this other stuff, which I can understand. He was asked specifically if WikiLeaks was furnished their information on Podesta and the phone calls by the Russians, and Comey said no.
The entire case that Democrats make that ‘Russia stole the election from Hillary’ is based on the premise that Russia supplied Podesta’s emails to WikiLeaks which then somehow led to Hillary’s defeat.

Rand Paul: “We Know… for Sure” that Obama Spied on Trump Team.

Via Billy

sen

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) appeared on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday to discuss the upcoming fight over the GOP healthcare bill and the possibility that President Trump was spied upon. Senator Paul said he couldn’t say if there was (or was not) a wiretap on President Trump, but he did argue that we “know… for sure” that the President’s National security advisor, Mike Flynn,  was most certainly spied upon.

George Stephanopoulos: “Finally, sir, you’re also a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. We see the president standing by that claim about President Obama. It’s caused a rift now with British intelligence over the weekend. How big a problem is this for the president’s credibility?

How does he fix it?”

Rand Paul: “I think that we know one thing for sure, that the Obama administration did spy on Flynn. Now, whether it was direct or indirect, somebody was reading and taking — a transcript of his phone calls and then they released it. It is very, very important that whoever released that go to jail, because you cannot have members of the intelligence community listening to the most private and highly classified information and then releasing that to The New York Times.

Wikileaks: James Comey Lied – Republican Party Emails Were Also Released During 2016 Campaign

Obamacare Repeal or Obamacare 2.0? By Ron Paul

Via Billy

This Thursday, the House of Representatives will vote on a Republican bill that supposedly repeals Obamacare. However, the bill retains Obamacare’s most destructive features.

That is not to say this legislation is entire without merit. For example, the bill expands the amount individuals can contribute to a health savings account (HSA). HSAs allow individuals to save money tax-free to pay for routine medical expenses. By restoring individuals’ control over healthcare dollars, HSAs remove the distortions introduced in the healthcare market by government policies encouraging over-reliance on third-party payers.

The legislation also contains other positive tax changes, such a provision allowing individuals to use healthcare tax credits to purchase a “catastrophic-only” insurance policy. Ideally, health insurance should only cover major or catastrophic health events. No one expects their auto insurance to cover routine oil changes, so why should they expect health insurance to cover routine checkups?

Trump Admin To Boycott U.N. Human Rights Council, Over Anti-Israel Agenda

Via Billy

In First, U.S. Will Not Attend U.N. Human Rights Council Meeting

The Trump administration will boycott the United Nation's Human Rights Council, or UNHRC, due to its efforts to advance an anti-Israel agenda, according to senior administration officials familiar with the effort who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.

The UNHRC, which includes member countries cited for mass human rights abuses, is poised on Monday to adopt at least five anti-Israel resolutions, prompting outrage in the Trump administration over what officials described as the council's unjust bias against the Jewish state.

The action on these items has prompted the Trump administration to boycott the council and refuse to attend the Monday meeting, according to administration officials apprised of the situation who spoke with the Free Beacon.

Chief Obamacare architect and current advisor to President Donald Trump on health care reform Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel is on record admitting that the true purpose of the Affordable Care Act is to destroy private insurance companies and make single-payer unavoidable.

Trump is scheduled to meet Monday with oncologist, bioethicist and Obamacare architect Ezekiel Emanuel about how to effectively overhaul the U.S. health care system. Emanuel’s visit to the White House marks his third face-to-face meeting with Trump since the president defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential elections.

Sean Spicer fired back against critics claiming Donald Trump’s team collaborated with Russia during Monday’s White House press briefing.

“From everything that has been publicly available, on several occasions, the DNC was asked by the F.B.I. to alleviate all their concerns about leaking, yet that question still hasn’t come out,” the White House press secretary opened. “Why would the DNC on multiple occasions rebuff the F.B.I? … If they were so concerned with leaks and hacking, why did they not allow the F.B.I. to come look?”

Edward Snowden Weighs In As NSA Director Testifies On Russian Interference In 2016 Election

Edward Snowden weighed in as the directors of the National Security Agency and Federal Bureau of Investigation testified before the House Intelligence Committee Monday.

The former NSA contractor said he noticed a “red flag” as the two men took questions from Congress members about leaks of classified information to the press.

“Red flag: NSA Director careful to discuss only who can unmask USP identities in reporting, not who can access collection involving USPs,” Snowden tweeted Monday. “How many communications in which at least one participant is American are held by the NSA?”

A Post-Racial Society is Racist and Other Things Ibram X. Kendi Taught Me

Via Billy

The National Book Award goes to a ridiculous racist.

The 2015 National Book Award winner wrote that the police officers and firefighters who dashed in to save people in the World Trade Center on 9/11 were “menaces of nature” and “not human to me”.

After the National Book Foundation disgraced itself with its award to Ta-Nehisi Coates’s bizarre racist tract, Between the World and Me, in which white people, even if they’re saving lives after a terrorist attack, are not human, it decided to go one worse with its 2016 winner who insists that a post-racial society is a racist idea.

That’s Ibram X. Kendi, an assistant professor of African American History at the University of Florida, who won for Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America.
Like Coates, Kendi appears to come from a black nationalist family and Stamped is another black nationalist tract.

Stamped from the Beginning claims to narrate "the entire history of racist ideas, from their origins in fifteenth-century Europe". Apparently racist ideas had not existed for all of human history until the Europeans invented them around the same time as the printing press and the muzzle-loaded rifle.

French Presidential Race: Marine LePen Far Ahead of Rivals in Secret Polling

LePen polling close to 34% in secret polls – Le Figaro

An editorialist at French daily, Le Figaro, has alluded to secret polling data which show the Front National’s Marine LePen scoring above 30% of intentions to vote in the first round of the French presidential election.

Surveys in the public domain consistently have populist LePen ahead of her rivals in the first round, at 26-28% of intentions to vote but losing to whichever rival she faces in the second. A score of above 30% in the first round, however, would significantly boost her chances of continuing to victory on May 7th.

Devin Nunes: 'Other surveillance' against Trump possible outside wiretapping

The chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence said Monday that he doesn't believe Trump Tower was wiretapped, but left open the idea that there was other surveillance against President Trump by the Obama administration.

"Let me be clear, I've been saying this for several weeks, we know there was not a physical wiretap of Trump Tower. However, it's still possible that other surveillance activities were used against President Trump and his associates," Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said during Monday's hearing on Russia's meddling in the U.S. election.

Justice Department: President should have power to fire head of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

Via Billy

The Justice Department told a federal appeals court Friday that President Trump must have the authority to fire the head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a powerful regulatory agency created under President Obama.

In an unusual move, the Justice Department filed a friend-of-the court brief opposing the CFPB in a major court case, asserting that the agency’s organizational structure is unconstitutional. It’s the same conclusion that a panel of appellate judges reached last year.

NC: Tourism thriving, economy expanding despite bathroom bill desertions

North Carolina may have lost out on the NCAA championships, the NBA All-Star Game and Bruce Springsteen thanks to its hotly contested transgender bathroom law, but the state’s economy didn’t miss a beat.

Economic indicators released for 2016 show that the boycott has failed to derail North Carolina as a regional and national powerhouse, despite the loss of high-profile performances and sporting events in response to House Bill 2, signed March 23 by then-Gov. Pat McCrory.

Tourism has thrived: Hotel occupancy, room rates and demand for rooms set records in 2016, according to the year-end hotel lodging report issued last week by VisitNC, part of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.

Meanwhile, North Carolina ranked fourth in the nation for attracting and expanding businesses with the arrival of 289 major projects, and seventh in projects per capita — the same as in 2015, according to Site Selection magazine, which released its 2016 rankings in the March edition.

U.S. Bans Carry On Laptops and Tablets on Some Middle Eastern Flights to America

The United States is banning many common electronic devices from the cabin on inbound and outbound flights on more than a dozen Middle Eastern and African airlines. It’s not clear whether the ban reflects concerns about an imminent security risk, but it is making waves among big carriers that fly to and from the United States.

On Monday, Royal Jordanian Airlines abruptly announced on Twitter that it received “instructions from the concerned U.S. departments” that passengers can’t carry any electronic devices bigger than a cell phone onto its flights into or from the United States. The tweet was deleted several hours later
Devices including laptops, tablets, cameras, and DVDs can only be put in checked bags. Medical devices and cellphones were exempted. The ban comes into effect starting March 21 and airlines are expected to comply within 96 hours.

Rep. Lamar Smith is using a new term to describe the mainstream media and the Democratic Party, arguing that both have become almost indistinguishable from each other.

“The media and Democrats are so close in association and so close in their philosophical views that we might as well use one word to describe both, and that’s ‘Mediacrats,’” the Texas Republican, founder of the House Media Fairness Caucus, told the Washington Examiner in an interview Sunday.

Mr. Smith said the media’s treatment of President Trump should be enough to strip them of their “mainstream” status.

It should be noted that Gowdy did not give evidence for any of the names he raised possibly being the source of the leaks.

The South Carolina Republican read a number of headlines, openly referring to leaks of classified information, before posing to Comey he “thought it was against the law to disseminate classified information information. Is it?”
